I don't think I know what you mean. Points are only deducted when a page is chosen the best, for all the rest once bought points stay as long as they make it to the top. The points prise for getting to the top is equal to number of points of the second page in the rankings (with a minimum of 1 point, but I'm thinking about lifting that minimun - so that when you buy 1 point, and noone else buys any, you stay at the top spot until there comes anyone else to buy points).

Maybe you should use it randomwise.
Meaning the more they pay, the more they are being showed.
I agree that if you would only see the same top5, it would be hard to get returned visitors.

Simple question: Why you`re thinking that people will buy points if they know that their rank can be easy overtaken? You must give some guarantee that they can hold they rank for a while not just for few minits...

Because they won't lose anything, even if they might get overtaken for some days - the no.1 page will lose points every day, so you'll always be able to estimate how many points do you need to make it to the top in the near future.
