Default Ebay – Source of earning?

Can I make a living selling on eBay? Do you think that doing a business on eBay is a better option tool and a good investment strategy. Is it worth making eBay as my full time source of earning a living.

ebay is a huge market place, to my mind its good to trade in there, but you have to be cautious with it, i dont agree to it ebay being a life time earning source unsure about that,

eBay has a big buyer database.... well if you have something nice and easy to sell sure one can make big on eBay...

the reasons being tht there is no investment wht so ever.. like rent, electricity, salesman.... etc.. so 100% profit...

I guess it really depends on what you plan to sell. Trying to buy and sell unique, established websites is a pain on ebay because it is just absolutely flooded with MFA (made for adsense) sites.

I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket and have ebay as your only full time source of income. Setting up an automated store with a good drop-shipper will let you pursue other investments.

My personal opinion about ebay is not so good.

I have missed very nearly two times in my life getting scammed. So if you are good at spotting scams then ebay is good.

Ebay can make you good money but it's better you don't make it your major source of income.

also don't try to see income coming from one source, look at multiple options, you want to be always on the safer side, something work , few things don't.
and if you feel ebay can be ur life, you are interested in it totally then stay there 24hrs, make it your 100% destination of living, nothing is impossible, you can do it.

I have to disagree with you, Pratik - ebay is actually a very expensive way to go if you're planning on opening an ebay store. they charge you a flat monthly fee of $15, plus a fee for listing each item (and, if you list an item for auction, they charge you for extras like putting the item in bold in the search results, putting a box around the item, etc.), then they charge you a portion of the sales price/final auction price.

I recently set up an ebay store for one of my clients (choosing only the basics, not the extras). He has over 100 items to list in the store, but he started off with just 19. He just got his first bill from ebay and it came to almost $100. It really adds up.

If you're just planning on selling through auctions and not a store, they still charge you for the "listing extras," plus a portion of the final sales price. Plus, if you're paid through PayPal, you're charged ANOTHER 4%. So, by the time you're done, a good chunk of change is lost. For example, if you're auctioning off a widget and the ending bid is $20, you're going to lose around $2.00 right off the bat (assuming you didn't opt for any "extras"), then, when the buyer pays through paypal, you'll lose another 4%...Granted, on a small sale it's minimal, but on a sale of $100 or more, it can be very expensive.

If you're considering going through ebay, I'd suggest opening up a web site where you list all of your items and just put a few auctions up on ebay, being sure to list your web site address on each auction. That way you can benefit from the exposure ebay offers without having to pay the ridiculous fees for a large number of items.

I closed my eBay store because there was a huge hike in their fees. I had a book store for a while, and then some electrical goods and Nike's and then mobile phones.

Mobile Phones and electrical goods can be good, but only if you can get them really cheap, because there are a lot of people selling your prices won't go as high.

You may also see smaller profits for a while until you build up your feedback because people will spend more with higher feedback sellers.

What were you thinking of selling?
