I would like to use free hosting if they are reliable. But most free hosting would require something from you. There is no free lunch.

If it's free hosting there will obviously be no support contract.

With no contract there's no help, no support, no stability.

If you are serious about you business, better go out and get some quality hosting.

Great point - I would go one step further.

Find a host that is focused on providing services to businesses. Most hosts have no idea how the needs of a business differ from someone that just needs a personal website.

Well.....If you are serious with your investment.....free host??? I'm not so sure about that.

I'm quoting Warren Buffet, I think this is true:

"Price is what you pay. Value is what you get"
- Warren Buffet

Free host is questionable.

There's nothing wrong in free web hosting as long as you’re serious about it and the web host is reliable, scalable and provides a good service. There are many free web hosting providers without any real desire or plans to improve in the long term. And with instant and short lived web presence. So you should not get caught to this type of free web hosting services. So free web hosting is good for a selected segment of users depending on their needs.

There are advantages and disadvantages with free hosting. For personal blog, just fine but for business, I think not.

Free hosting ? Not a good idea for business. Free hosting sites are normally seen as unimportant to Googlebot or Slurp. Which means your website will never be able to SEO to reach top pages in search engine. Losing out traffic or potential customers via search engines is a NO NO...
