This is an interesting bit of news for web designers and small businesses with websites:
< news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7417496.stm > Is anyone experiencing these effects? I design web sites and I have noticed this trend a long time ago... I think it is great too! People are expecting more and better things from the web industry, not just turn-key solutions and crappy websites. |

The key is simplicity, users hate complicated websites, they just want to get to the information or product as quickly as possible in the least amount of time. Hence why flash sites loose the majority of visitors before they even enter the site. If you think of your site from your users point of view, really get into the head of your customer and use the site and look at what would make you buy, join etc you will have a good start.

Totally True ...
I even blogged about it once ... some time back though ... Give me What I want, Now I totally agree that it is for the good. Crappy ad stuffed, non-user friendly website should and must go down. |
