As far as I know they will be studying the competition, and will try to do what they are doing but better.

u can probably say that, anyway search engines no longer give weight age to links that can be fabricated.

Search engines give weight age to organic links only, any links such as forum signature and article submission are fabricated by you itself, so it doesn't make sense for search engines increase your SER on basis of them.
