any advise to boost up our international business?

We operated a primary battery factory for many years. In the past decades, we mainly export our battery through chinese trading company. We produce all kinds of primary battery for radio, calculator, remote control, camera etc.By cooperation with our partners, who are well-known state owned companies, our product have been delivered to all over the world. Many of chain supermarket have our battery for sale.

In order to reduce the cost and increase our foreign clients’ profit, we want to try exporting our product directly without through a trading company.

But now I don't know how to step out the first step. I don't plan to participate in exhibition and register a premium member of B2B. Are there any posibility to boost our international business and get a success? Are there any channel directing to our target wholesaler and distributor?

Hi John,

You should try to get a local agent where you plan to market your products - these services will typically cost something, but still affordable. Otherwise, it depends on how much knowledge your company has on your product's international market. You may find it worth spending a bit of money on a market analysis - be sure to pick a agency with knowledge in exactly your segment an geographical target.

You can also try to register your company at my company's site and look a bit around in there. This is a free service open to all.

thank you very much for your value advise. i think it is necessary to fina a good local agent. but how can i do it? should i go abroad to looking for them in person. Is there any possibility to find the quality agent through the internet. i have contacted many of company owner by email or phone, hope to establish a mutual relationship but in vain.

You should definitely first try to find an agent first over the internet, as it will save you a lot of time and money. There are several ways to do this - one could simply be to post an ad in a relevant forum, see who responds, and then contact the most serious and competent agent.
