I have a dream today - Starting my first project

Hi everybody!

My name is Pablo and I'm a programmer working in Argentina for a company.
I always wanted to run my own business, I had many ideas but for some or other reason I stopped developing them.
Today I´ve a project and I'll commit myself to finish and put it online on 60 days.
The motivation of the project is because I'm trying to find a home but web sites here at Argentina haven't helped too much.
So the idea is to build a real state search engine based on google maps for Argentina with search by radius from a zip
code, street view, and many features.
I put myself a deadline of 60 days and I'll be adding each day how the project is moving on a blog created at blogger

It will be great to receive comments and advice, maybe this can help also other people that are in the same situation...

way to go i think i can make more comments after i see some more messages in your blog.
also just focus on one project at a time and later move to next.
try putting quality and unique content.

Today was my first working day on the project. I'll add everyday how the project is going
on the blog. I'm really tired. Tomorrow I'll got up at 7:00 AM to continue

That's a brilliant idea. It would give people a much better idea of real estate before they actually go to see it. have you thought about adding reviews of the area? zoning information? providing an all in one resource would make you an instant listing preference for real estate agents

Good luck! I think this could be a great website, and you can get advertising money from banks etc for their mortgages!

Thanks!. It's wonderful to come here and see more people interested it give me energy to continue. Interesting idea about the mortgages and advertising money!, also adding reviews of the area and zoning information. I haven't think about that but that could be great, also maybe adding a discussion area where people can discuss advantages and disadvantages of each area maybe could be and interesting idea!

I added more info to the blog. Mainly I'm now trying to determine which can be a good search page. Which options are common like bedrooms, bathrooms, location?. I added a possible search page on the blog. What do you think. What I can improve?

Discussion areas are a good move, add a comments ability for people in different areas as well, as it allows for third party endorsements of various areas.

Good options for search are;

Types of property (idustrial, commercial, lifestyle, rural, residential, bareland, townhouse, apartment)
Section size (a size range in here is good, from a few hundred hectares to maybe 500sqm and various size ranges in between)
Number of bedrooms
Age of property
Area property is in
Price range

Give people as many search options as they want but don't make them compulsary, if people don't mind what area they're in just let them leave it blank and so on.

Also consider putting a space in the listings for real estate agents to advertise themselves if they're the ones listing the property.

Wow that's are great ideas !!
Finally !!. I just upload a construction page version to the new domain. It's in spanish by now but I'll be translating to english also.

I'll take into account all the ideas. Tomorrow I think I'll upload the search page (it will do nothing) but at least to see and receive feedback on that.
