Would you be comfortable if your boss is a female?

As a male employee, would you prefer your boss to be a male or a female? Would you be comfortable, without any ego problem on having a female boss in office?

That's an interesting question. I've worked for both men and women and I have to say I've found it's more on an individual basis that I find I like or dislike people.

As it is I have one programmer working for me with a view to eventually working with me, and I'm looking to hire another assistant. I don't have any problems with them, but then my leadership style is relatively relaxed.

i won't mind working under a women as long as i am given full respect for work i do.
i have not worked under a women as boss , but yes for several clients i have.
also if you are doing job your thinking should be to work the best and get higher promotions with the job you do , if you are satisfying your goals then it doesnt matter if boss is male or female.

i will love to work with a women as my boss, no experience yet to work under a women.

Many couples choose to work full time because they not only have to pay the bills or buy their own house, but also provide their children with all the luxuries and comforts and plan a wonderful future for them.

Not an issue for me, either make or female will do, as long as they can do the job

I'm a man who's worked for at least 2 female bosses that I can recall. I really liked one of them as she was supportive and very receptive to employee ideas. The other one was a bit harder to get along with as she often had a different mindset. So, I don't believe that you can generalize on whether it's better to have a male or female boss. I believe that it depends on the individual boss.

There may be some crazed male chauvanists that won't want to work under a woman, but that's their problem.

I believe if you treat your boss with respect then your boss will treat you in kind.

I agree with hobbit. You cant generalize them by gender. It depends on how they perform professionally. I've had my own share of working under a female boss, and am comfortable with her leadership. I've had bad experience working with bosses of my own gender though (male), lol.
