The word "Politics" comes in the picture, when the person "Work Hard" and not "Work Smart"

Best way to avoid Politics is to adapt whats happening and Do the right thing (Smartly), which doesnt offend anyone.

The Management very often uses Trust as a very sensitive human resource tool to manipulate its staff .

Trust is something which displays a 100% instant cause and effect reaction from a person.

I tell my co worker : " I have assigned this job to you and i trust your ability" - this means that I wl not breathe down his neck .

I can also put it this way : " I have assigned Mr X to work on this project in tandem with u " - now this can be looked at in 2 ways :

either i am not trusted to handle the project on my own

or I am being supervised and controlled due to lack of trust in my abilities.

This is how the word trust has a direct effect on business .

But i do agree that the organisation must chalk out very fool proof internal control systems and chalk out a definite company policy and the employee has to work within the framework of the laid out policies and procedures -

If you give trust most employees with respond appropriately. Hopefully you weed out the bad ones in the hiring process.

True if you hire the wrong ones... whose fault is it any way.
