Carefully Plan out things before you start an outsourcing business. I agree with the statements given above. Do some research about the industry, then plan out better strategy, know your competitors, and site a good strategy to compete with them. In an outsourcing industry it's really important that you are competitive and you are in to the market.

Rahul,
I would agree with Hamish. It really depends on what you wish to outsource. IMO non core activities such as accounting should be outsourced a.s.a.p. unless you're an expert accountant because being successful is more than just selling a product or service. You should be careful to navigate of each aspect of your business effectively. If you are looking to outsource a core competency then you may want to consider only sourcing a part or component first. This way you can learn bit by bit how the market is moving and how to take full advantage. This may also clue you in on ways to increase your finished products quality or give you time to do other core activities if this specific piece is time consuming. If you do decide though to outsource an entire finished product, give your self plenty of time to analyze each supplier. Spread your net far and wide. I have been sourcing products from China for some time now and find that given the proper time and motivation suppliers there will produce to your requirements. I say that from a biased position as I am a consultant for Chinese products however, I do have confidence in their ability. Ben |
