good google ranking?
If I have my domain set to redirect to another site... will my original site have an effect on the google rank it gets or just the redirect? Im trying to get good SEO for my domain.

Google gives lots of preference to redirect issues. But make sure it should be 301.

I've ranked high on Google and other engines with a redirect URL. I don't see a problem there.

Links pointing to other site has definitely an effect on both sites when it comes to google pageranking. But you won't see the effects instantly for google only updates its pageranking once in a few months. It would be best if both sites linking one another have the same PR or nearly close PR(pageranking). If you want good SEO, you should first know what keywords to target and then focus links on this keywords. Higher ranked sites linking back to you would be great but the problem would be how to do so. For higher ranked sites won't link until they find something useful of the deal. And do remember that this is forum testimonials are more to be considered as opinions. But as that is what I know of SEO and google PR. If I may be wrong or mislead, please do correct me...
