Lightbulb Marketing Without a Budget?

I met a young man who didn't have much money to spend for advertising so I suggested that he build an email list or start a newsletter. The young man thought he needed a website. I told him that he could build a list of email contact by providing a high quality newsletter to new and existing clients and that he could use the same system that professional firms use to communicate with their customers.

Yeah e-mail marketing is a good cheap option, I think you could also suggest him adwords even that is a budget based pay for performance model

email marketing is a cheap option but cost is involved in it.

I was looking for classified ads like Craiglist anyone has done promotion on it. please give me your thoughts. I want to promote MoDazlle over there.

Yes classifieds are useful, especially stuff like "craigslist". You could also try "kijiji" and "sulekhab2b"

No one marketing approach is right for everyone. Email marketing is often used by companies that provide professional services - law firms, investment banks, valuation consultants, etc. I assume that it works or they would not keep doing it. I'm not so sure that it would work as well for some other businesses.

we need to come up with innovative ideas to tap the market. For MoDazzle I had tried out Pay per post.

Cool Re: Marketing Without a Budget?

Bulk e-mail posting and newsletter are out of the equation since the last 8 months.Don't even try it.Get a website done at any cost and even if there isn't any money left to promote it try the basic techniques like forums, blogs, and social networking site to market it for traffic.Without that nothing would help.Things in the world of e-commerce are getting costlier.
