They say that their advertising is highly targeted. They target people who are already interested in your type of product, service, or content.

I typed Hypedrive into google and the first few pages were basically all about them. I don't see why you said they weren't on google.

I think we all have cheer leaders out there. It's a good idea but I think it can get out of hand.

This sound very similar to viral marketing. It basically follows the idea that if you are out there exposing your business in ways that are not too "sales pitchy" and you offer value to people for free or not then it will cause a buzz and will spread like a virus. Hence the term "viral marketing"

i'm sure this person is from hyperdrive...:-)

BUT the post is a good one / relevant so please don't remove.

I think it's all part of what i like and other call web 2.0 - where the importance of search engines is diminished which can only be a good thing - hence the reason google paid so much for youtube

What in my eyes would be better is for these companies rather than charging so much would be for them to actively go to a business and say - okay how much will you give us per sale for XYZ - agree on something then promote.

If these companies are so good then surely they would make more money in getting a slice of the profits per sale - but guess what they never do this?

I would like to have traffic but just targeted one, not trace passers.

[ Though the company is 7 months old it don't have a single page in Google index you can imagine the quality of this site from this! I am not against this new way of promotion but the company that will get you on the top should be on the top first ]

Just my opinion.
i hear what you are saying - but you have to be very careful - suppose the search engines drop you like a bad smell - one change of the algorithm and you can be gone for a very long time - it happened to us about 2 years ago - we went from having top 10 positions and having 50 orders / day to next to nothing over night and so many others did the same due to the florida update i think it was..

PS - i have bumped into this hyperdrive on my travels on the internet before so i guess they are a decent sized company - although why don't they promote me and my products and take a cut of the profits if they are so good - surely they would make more money that way?

You have to be aware of the legal repercussions this type of advertising can cause. Once you make a consumer group feel jaded, you have lost them for the most part, and anyone they know as well. I do think it is a good idea I am currently doing PPLSI and everything I do is word of mouth. I have made few flyers and other such stuff, but 99% of my sales have been through word of mouth. Currently I am looking for ways to expand upon that, since I am currently deployed to the Middle East. Just keep in mind that you only to piss off one person to make it an uphill battle with stealth marketing.
