There's is a lot of talk about advertising and marketing, but what I feel is more important is branding. Wal Mart is a company that does branding quite well, from the 80's as a small store in small towns in the south to a global giant by the 90's to the 21st Century, the only thing that stayed the same was the the name and logo, even when the stores mega-sized they were bigger but the interior design was the same as it was in the 80's. So bottom line the work you do pays off when your branding yourself, this brings personality and stability.

I think Target has much better branding than Wally World.

You can basically put in any name you like Target, Wally World, Kmart. They really don't matter some companies do it better than others. I personally have had more experience with Wal Mart growing up in a small Texas town than with the others. I even worked at one for a while. Go with what you know and grow! What is it about Target that attracts you and does it matter if there's a grocery area in it?

Do you find both have the same thing or can you name off differences? In my opinion it seems Wal Mart has more in quantity, but Target has more in variety.

That is an excellent point! The only place that does that besides Wally World, is Sam's which is run by the same company, I have heard of Costco but never been to compare the prices that both business do. I have bought a lot of stuff at Sam's but it doesn't seem worth the price I pay sometimes I don't even use half the stuff before it goes bad. However I do use all the trash bags, towels, and toilet paper, I get from them. Sam's doesn't even advertise unlike Wal Mart but when they are built side by side would you? It's more word of mouth advertising for places like Sam's don't you agree?

Well here is an interesting note on branding. There was a piece on the news last week about a study where food in McDonald's wrappers was compared with plain generic food wrappers. The food was the same but the people, possibly kids, chose... can you guess?
