Default Need Help....Interviewing clients

I recently started an internship with an organization that specializes in B2B integration. I have to conduct interviews with clients, members of the National Retail Federation and other organizations. I have to come up with questions for the interviews and the only ones i have come up with are...

What are the three critical issues facing your members?
What does your organization do to faced these challenges?

Any input would be appreciated, I have been racking my brain for a week, and as you see haven't come up with much.

Huston.

I'm not overly familiar with the topic you're talking about, but some basic stuff I would ask is things like...

Company Size
Target Market

I would also break down your issues question into several, covering staffing, management, financial and marketing issues.

I would also be asking what kind of resources, tools and services they believe would make the integration and overall management easier.

The organization allows companies such as Levi jeans put their products on the server, then retailers are able to view the products and order the products. The company takes Levi's invoice and converts it into the format that the retailer requests. So if Levi is selling jeans to 1500 clients, there could be 1500 possible formats for the invoice and order form. All orders coming to Levi look the same (format) and all invoices going to the retailer look the same (invoice).

If a retailer orders from 2000 manufacturers, all orders will be formated the same way.
All orders will be stored in the datasystem. That is the organization in a nutshell.

We are wanting to do interviews to hopefully get new clients.
any more ideas?

ok...

Basically what you need to do is find out what needs of their companies aren't being fulfilled by your competitors.

Here's what I'd be asking...

Company Size
Target Market

Now ask about their needs, what are their needs in relation to your service? What kind of support do they need? What kind of account control do they need? What kind of promotion and marketing help do they need? Anything you do, find out how you can make life easier for them.
