I would like to publish a general interessting article about a subject that is indireclty leading people to my business.
Can somebody give me advice how it is working with this indirect way of marketing? Are there newpapers that are taking articles and publishing them for free (because I did their work)? How and where can I publish my articles in Europe - if possible for free? Thanks for every help ![]() |

your best bet is to start with article websites, and then to talk to magazines and newspapers individually, they have different policies.

Article submission sites on the internet are free. Do a search and find the best ones. I find ezine articles to be listed the fasted once I publish them but look around. I submit my articles to about 100-150 sites when I publish them.

Thanks for the answer. I read some stuff about article submission and it looks to me not very much different than entering my site to surching machines. I mean in the end they give you links to your site. Do you think that there is anybody reading those articles? My idea is to contact directly online newspapers and to provide them with my article but I am not so sure if this will work. |

The other thing to do is try it from a different angle, a press release. You'll need to do something suitably interesting with your business, like sponsor an event or whatever, and then write up a simply summary of it, and send it out to all the newspapers in the area, one of two of them will likely be interested and either cut and paste the press release into their paper or interview you.

You could always use a press release distribution service, too. It's not free, but it generally ends up in some exposure at least online.
Talking directly to local media is a good idea for an actual article. There are plenty of magazines and newspapers that would be interested in printing your stuff (although they may not pay you), assuming it's well written and offers some insight. The article you submit doesn't have to be a blatant advertisement, but it can just show your expertise on a certain subject. This could be in the form or an OpEd piece or something. Ideally, the article will be followed by a sentence or two telling who you are -- this is where your company would be mentioned, and maybe even your e-mail address.
