Default Create advertising that sells

A well-planned marketing programme should include sufficient commitment of capital resources to an ongoing, properly executed advertising programme.

If you run a small business, you aren't likely to have a generous enough advertising budget that will allow you to run costly branding or campaign ads.

Every advertisment you run must convey to your prospect a solid offer and attractive reasons to act quickly, and result in increased sales and an enhanced image of your company.

Good advertising always pays its own way through increased sales and profits, improved cost-effectiveness, reduced selling costs and shortened selling cycles.

A useful formula that will help you increase the effectiveness of your advertising efforts is A-I-D-A, which stands for Attention, Interest, Desire and Action.

When creating an advertisment, always remind yourself that it should: (1) capture your prospects' Attention, (2) arouse their Interest in your offer, (3) create their Desire for your product or service, and (4) provide a powerful spur to Action, that is, turn your prospect into buyers.

Remeber, bad advertising is an unproductive expense, and good advertising is an investment in future profits!

Good post, those are very important parts of advertising.

Let us not forget about placement though. You can have the best advertisement in the world, but if you put it in the wrong market all is lost. For example say I were selling electronics such as dvd players and tv's a good advertisement in a suburb or city would probably do wonders for my business, but placing the same ad in amish acres would simply be a waste of money. So it is always a good idea to keep an eye on the demographics of the area in which you are planning to market.

Excellent post. And very well written.

I agree with Creadiv though, sometimes the worst adds in the right place are still better than the best in the wrong place.

some terms can make the advertisment look more attractive,
like unlimited, free , life time gurantee, and more..
these should be definately incorporated to ensure fast sales.

On the other hand you have to be careful with such terms. When we're surrounded by advertising we often shut down when we see certain words unless we're specifically looking for something, and sometimes a more unique add can be the ticket when there's eight other people offering FREE LIFETIME GUARENTEED UNLIMITED SPORKS or something.

Advertising plays and important role in a marketing plan.

You need to look ast the 4 P's with marketing and advertising.

Product- what you are selling
Price- How much you are selling this item for
Promotion- what you do to promote your product
Position- where you promote your product.

Excellent Posting,

All the points mentioned are important and crucial in utilizing advertising to increased sales and enhanced image.

To add just a little bit, small businesses or even big ones must have a clear and specific advertising goals. Because, you might need different messages for each one. Increasing sales goals might have more "call-to-action" message, and enhancing image/brand goals have more detailed benefits mentioned in their ads. Last but not least, pay attention to how you deliver the message.

Excellent points. At the same time though, tracking various marketing efforts with efficiency can prove difficult as direct customer feedback can be hard to get without being overly intrusive.

Some options for tracking advertising and marketing strategies are referral tracking, feedback forms (how did you hear about us?), click back tracking, and using only one method at a time and gauging performance.

I think the most important aspect of ongoing advertising campagins is "not giving up".

All too often people who come to me wanting a website designed, have not considered even the option of having an ongoing advertising campaign/series in the pipeline.

Key: Find something that works and repat it, then do it again!
