New to the forum here. I just started a mostly free classifieds site for my small city in southeast Michigan and am looking for brainstorming ideas to get it going. I've tried handing out a few flyers and don't feel that I'm making much progress doing that. My budget is somewhere between non-existent and very low right now, so I know that kinda puts a crimp in my advertising, but any good free or low cost ideas out there? 1. Can You make your website search engine url friendly? you have to change the dynamic url into static url by using .htaccess
If you have search engine friendly you can use Search engine optimization.
2. higher your Pagerank by adding more link in directory. but don't try reciprocal link. use only one-way link
3. then if static url already estabilish, try using ppc search engine until you have 1000 ads.
4. see what next happen...

Welcome to the world of building your traffic.........i am running a similar site, but i am targeting Nationwide. I am doing things the old fashioned way. Word of mouth and just submitting to directories and writing articles. Try writng a press release and submitting it to your local paper or news channel. Best of luck!
