Default Re: Promotion Vs Branding

promotion has 2 meanings
one would be promotion of manager to one level ahead
and other would be special product promotion price or offer.

where as branding is constant advertising for the logo or product name to make sure people remember it for a long long time and keep buying the same product again and again for generations.

these are mostly done by fmcg companies, eg:every one in the world knows gillitte blades..

In addition, to the above comments about branding it is a logo but also a feel and appearance of the company puts in all its marketing materials, the appearance on business cards are the same and on website. This gives a very consistent look of the company.
