Its great if your looking for new products to sell. Not so great if you want customers I guess.

If you want to know what your ads need to give them the best chance to work check out this article,

I think it generates a lot of enquiries wheter you get business or not is a different issue and of course you get better response if ad size is bigger and attractive

Advertising in newspaper is a very powerful medium. But care should be taken that it should be advertised in the right section. Otherwise you tend to loose certain important targets, at times.

i strongly agree with anthony1. When you advertise in newspapers, there are a lot of things you should consider: Which newspaper is read more by your target? Which section? Left hand or right hand page? Does your target market read their papers at home during the weekends or at the office during weekdays? Timings and follow-ups and a bit quite more should be planned. hope this helps

I have had good success with advertising in the newspaper. I think the most important thing is to choose the area of delivery carefully. The demographics of the area is very important along with the amount of people your add is going to reach. Also take into account the type of newspaper it is.

For example in Australia we have the Age and The Herald Sun which are our main papers in my state. The Age is more worded towards the business people and the Herald Sun is worded for the general population. So depending on your product you should choose the right publication. Hope this helps a little.

Any advertising should be done with the target market in mind - how many of the newspaper readers fit your description of the ideal customer?

Cheers

I think newspaper advertising is old- and should be avoided.

Think about how many newspaper ads you actually remember each day.

If you are looking for a business or product, how do you find it? I use the internet!

I read the newspaper everymorning, and go through the ads and coupons on sunday. You would be surprised how many people do. Getting rid of newspaper advertising would be like getting rid of am radio. Although more people may be going to satellite radio a huge portion of us still listen to the am stations.
