i tried a bit to spread a word amongst my friends, but some of them feel its like spam around and they delete your scrap, just depends on what kind of friends network you have, also the matter you write should be appealing and impressive.

Well usually it is a good thing to start notifying friends about your new product/service, but like ankur says depending on the product/service or the way you market it to them it can be considered spammy. I wouldnt market a niche product about nanotechnology for example if all my friends are young students for example.
