both are benificial and of loss to an individual ,
when crude oil prices are high , refining companies benifit with higher margins, when the prices of crude oil are low people benifit as fuel prices go down.

Yes I agree with cowboy, everyone has its fair gains and losses. Generally, countries producing crude oil and manufacturing it benefit mosts upon the rise of its prices. On the other hand, countries which import/demands higher supplies or has shortage in its supplies for crude oil probably has the tendency to suffer because they have no choice but to get supplies on other countries. But usually common people benefit from low crude oil prices. Good day.

When oil prices go up, the fuel prices are quick to respond. When crude oil goes down, the prices of fuel dont fall as quick.
