whenever you apply for visa they check for your financial documents whether you can back up the cost of your travel so might be you didnt provided enough documents that your visa can be approved, i dont think there could be any other reason besides this

Since I am living in Dubai i could throw some light on the probable reason for your visa application being declined.
During November and December 2006 the Immigration Department stopped issuing visit visas for Indians, Bangladeshi and Pakistani nationals. The reason being that the annual quotas of visas allocated for these nationalities was already exhausted. In order to balance entry and exits , this suspension was done without making any public announcements. This was also done keeping in mind the huge flow of tourists visiting dubai during the shopping festival starting december 20, 2006 until february 2. 2007. This does not in anyway imply that when ur application is resubmitted , it will necessarily be rejected. Keep your fingers crossed . |

Yes its a fact . In the UAE each year around the end there is an amnesty scheme where the government allows illegal migrants to contact their respective embassies and get permits to leave the country without any punishment or penalty.
Usually around nov or dec each year visas of all kinds (employment and visit) are halted for few weeks for srilankans, indians, bangladeshi and pakistani nationalities . Each country has its own way of dealing with expat population. Thanks rhul for your bit of information .

Thanks rhul, I wasn't aware of that. Will keep it in mind in future.
One other thing you might consider is to have your visa processed by the hotel you stay in. The better hotels frequently have good relations with the visa department.
