Default travelling abroad from India then read this - ECNR Registration issues

ECNR registration issues.
Today i had been to the passport office at worli in mumbai. This is a prime place of importance for immigration issues, my passport was all fine,
They had just made 2 dashes on it which creates issues while travelling and it requires ECNR to be active.
It had a que of 500-700 people standing in Q for 2 hours, and que for ECNR fees was not seperate, one line for ECNR & passport applicants before the gate opens, and its really messy going there and standing 2 hrs , they have online application, but still they require verification to be done real time of the person face to face.

Funny thing is they dint ask for extra 300Rs $6-7 while the passport was being created, i have no clue what they are upto verifying the same person 2 times ?
I really hate it, i hope they improve management and ensure people do not get confused.
  • The Regional Passport Office , Mumbai introduces web based on line registration for ECNR (Emigration Check Not Required ) .
  • The applicants can fill up their name , other pertaining details & register on the web.
  • They will be allotted a Internet reference number and date on which they can come to the Passport Office to submit their Original Application .
  • The Applicant must quote the Internet Reference Number at the Time of submission .
Their website : http://passport.bom.nic.in/onecnr.htm

very poor service and support there, major issue is that no one is there to hear on this topic, unless the employee working there self experiences similar thing in other gov department they wont understand.

pretty silly to have a cancel thing there for ecnr , jus 1 pen slash, major issue is they do not have online facility to get things done at a faster pace.

Definitely it will be good to provide some relevant knowledge & tips about these mentioned factors, and if it will be online definitely it will go positive.
