Default business advice?

I am a 34 year old male who is considering returning to school for an MBA degree.
I currently have 10 years of experience as an educator. I am wondering if my older age and lack of business experience will diminish my chances of obtaining lucrative employment after receiving an MBA? Can anyone advise me?

well, man. what university will you able to study MBA? you are 34, not old, man. I think you should return to study MBA in 18 months. During the time studying MBA, you also have some internships. so that, you will have more experience. I have a friend who is studying MBA at Havard. He was working for TPG Group (investment fund). when TPG wanted to hire him, he said not, he would return for MBA.

34 is not old by any stretch. I would be looking to get into a business ownership and that would'nt require the MBA, my brother has an mba from a top notch school and a great job with AT&T but guess what they just told him, he has 2 weeks till they eliminate his job.
The corporate scene is brutal and more and more people are getting degrees, think ownership.

Hello Mbaprep, yes Go For The Mba I Wished I Would Have Done It,but Please Remember When You Return To The Work Place Everone Has Their Own Ideas, Be Clever Lay Your Cards Close To Your Chest, Work Things Out For Yourself, Let Other People Believe They Thought Of The Idea's And Never Let Them See You Comming. Remember the MBA is education first and secondly a job. Good Luck.

It is never too late to study. You can never be too old to study. But you need to think outside the box here, employment is kind of on it's way out buddy. It isn't something to aspire for, nor go to school for. You need to think self-employment. Get the book Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. Read it. You will learn a lot from it.

Cool Re: business advice?

So what if you're 34, go for it! Prove them wrong, that age doesn't matter. Anyways once you get the education, lots of doors would be opened. Or is just that you're anxious that you would be the oldest in the group when you go back to school? And as tojona said you can never be too old to study. Go for it and good luck.
