Default French or Spanish in business

Which is the most useful language in business if you had to choose between French or English? I know Spanish is a much bigger language worldwide but some people say that French is necessary in business.

Do you have any experience in this matter?

Best regards
Johanna

It depends on the business you are in. The order is: English, German, Italian, Japanese, then Spanish.

I would say English is the global language, as for the others, depends on your business, your targeted customers.

It is English. Even Chinese are learning English now. Don't know whether they will learn English or the whole world starts learning Chinese.

Yeah I agree that it depends on what customers you are dealing with. If your business focus on China Market, then I advise you to learn some Chinese though there are more and more people who can speak English,French and other languages. Chinese speakers has the largest population.

Obviously, learning some Mandarin or Cantonese would be beneficial for all of those people sourcing products in China.

I'm fluent in English and Swedish and I understand Danish and Norwegian because they're related to Swedish. So I wanna learn a third language fluently. I'm gonna start with Spanish
