I hope these will help you a little bit since I am in HR right now working as a HR consultant for a Museum in the US.

Download one of these Microsoft resume template: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/te...late&av=TPL000

-Rearrange your resume to meet the needs of a particular organization you are applying to.
-Check your spelling to make sure you have the right spelling for a particular word. For example, in the UK they spell the word " organisation" this way while in the US, we'll spell the word this way "organization."
-For your experiences, focus on how you made your previous employer better off. For example, I helped them save .... or I came up with a new process that saved ...
-Leave some spaces for reader to look for a particular area of your resume.

Don't forget to write a cover letter explaining which job you are applying for and where you saw it. I always hate it when people don't write a cover letter.

Text resume is getting stale and impersonal, People like looking at pictures
Businesses are looking for new ways to make an impact. What the experts say :-
"Video email will replace text messages as the online communications mechanism. Text-based email will seem as archaic as black and white television."
-- Forrester Research
"Internet Video is exploding. A typical video-laden site sees its traffic double every six to eight months. The keys to success include integrated online into video production, placing video on the homepage and keeping video segments short..."
-- Forrester Research

I suggest, adopt new technology & prepare Video Resume.
Video Resume will give you benefit of presenting yourself at first shot & get noticed.

So get noticed, employed , promoted, then jump to another one by preparing & sending your Video Resume.

I agree with jaydantraz2 that text resumes are getting stale. Last year I bought a software program called "folio21". You can find it at www.folio21.com. It allowed me to add pictures of myself and the projects that I've worked on. It also let me me add a little more personality that the recruiter was able to see.

Whenever I emailed a resume to a potential employeer I would add:

"To learn more about me beyond my resume, please visit my online portfolio at xxx.folio21.com. I received a lot of positive feedback and landed a job quickly using that method.

the format for the resume is not specific, it can be according to you way, BUT MAKE IT VERY CLEAR FOR READING... TRY TO FINISH IT IN A SINGLE PAGE AND PUT THE THING IN MIDDLE OF THE PAGE WHICH YOU WANT TO MAKE ATTRACTIVE
