First You need to know what degree You want. The variety offered is large.
A better approach would be, to find out "what do i need to know?" Then consider all sources for this knowledge. This means self study (by book), offline or online. Then take the one which fits Your needs best. I personally don't like online degrees, because they are too expensive mostly. You pay tons of money, just to receive some copies of PDFs (as far as i know). I think there are only few online learning programs that offer quality for a fair price. Ask for example lessons. Universities like Deakin offer Business courses via correspondence where most of your work is online.
I think it is fine if it is from a reputable university and it is the same as it would be if you studied on campus.

First of all decide which degree you actually want to do, corresponding to that only you should proceed. e.g. IGNU is a university from where you can get a degree online.
