(The Saigon Times Online) – The granting of the Aviation License to VietJetAir, Vietnam's first private airline, by the Government in late December 2007 has created an opportunity for private sector to participate in the transportation industry which has been a monopoly of the State so far.

The aviation market will be more dynamic as the Government, in principle, approved the establishment of a new private airline – Phu Quoc Air, according to the Ministry of Transportation. The Saigon Times Online had a conversation with Mr. Robert Hughes, Managing Director of VietJetAir about the opportunities and challenges of this developing market.

The Saigon Times Online: Please let us know, what is your business plan strategy to help VJA to be successful as the local aviation market is increasingly developing with the establishment of new airlines?
Mr Robert Hughes: We will focus intently on customer service to ensure that the entire passenger experience is positive so as to develop strong customer loyalty. We will have many first-time fliers as passengers, but we expect that repeat customers will be an important segment to focus on. This is also an important objective of our company.

Goverment should als provide ample oppurtunity for it to grow.
