Default Coaching Explained in Simple Terms

At the beginning of 2007, I took the time to reflect back on the past 12 months and have found that there appears to be some misconceptions of Business Coaching.

Some of the clients have had a little bit of trouble understanding how the coaching of a business works and what the value is to the business.

To help my future clients understand this concept, I have put it in a sporting context.

In any sporting team there are some key individuals that form an integral part of the team. Each person has a specific function to complete to enable the team to succeed

So who are the main players in a team?

The owner or team Manager
The Coach
The Team Captain
Team Support Staff
And the Players

Each time the team competes each member of the team has a function to complete that ensures the success of the team.

The Manager of the team has a desire to ensure that the results of the team are up to the expectations of the share holders and those who have a vested interest in the team.

The Manager passes the very subjective requirements down to the coach who then has to define the issues and formulate them into a plan. This plan has to be communicated to the Team Captain and the players.

At each stage of the game the Coach continues to monitor and provide direction and guidance to the Captain and the Players, so the whole team is moving to the same objective, to win.

During the game the Coach can provide reports back to the Team Manager as to the progress towards the objective.

So how does all this relate to the Business?

Well each business has the key staff in place to fill the main positions, with the exception of one, The Coach.

The key ingredient for a good coach is the ability to remain objective, and to assess and resolve operational issues as they arise.

When working all day everyday in a business it is very easy to lose the objectivity that is needed to move the business forward.

A coach is the one you should call on for help.

The Coach isn’t there to do all the work for you. The coach is there to guide you in the new direction. The Coach can make regular visits or use remote technology to assess how the business is going and recommend corrective actions if required.

That is where I can help

I have the experience to come in and act as the Coach for your team. Many times I have gone into a business and found that there is a small aspect of the business that is lacking, and by providing coaching and training to the relevant staff then the performance of the business improves.

How much improvement do you ask?

Well in the last 12 months I personally have worked with a number of clients to assist them to realize in excess of $7,000,000.00 net profit

Each of the clients has continued to move forward and have recognized the importance of outside assistance.

Many Business Owners are concerned about the cost of hiring in a coach, well, what is the cost of not doing it?

Again in my experience the cost of the Coaching can be recovered in less than 90 days, many clients have recovered it sooner.

If you can see that your business, or know of a business that could benefit from having a Master Business Coach come in to help your team, give me a call, or send me a message to discuss how it can all happen for you.
