Always remember that "NO MARKETING IS BAD MARKETING", hence marketing has no dimensions, so yohu can go any way... just keep in mind that you just need to analyze the market scenerio before going to implementing any step regarding e.g. In case of a cafe near the corner of the street, watch out the dustbin whether it is full of waste or not, if it is full, it means all going well...

Trade Directories have proven to be the best use of resources. If you have a product that is specific to a group of tradespeople - Speak to the local union publication. They will most likely give you a great deal on advertising.

Google is too expensive for the small time business. Lots of free classifieds like Craig list, and maybe pay some money and advertise on MySpace or Facebook

We use a range of free directory submissions, and google.
But our best results have come from the website in my signature. Its not my website, but I'm trying to get in now (shareholder) it's memberships are very cheap, but the actvity is amazing. You can also find other directories to advertise in, like quoteus dot com dot au. they have a wonderful service. So thats how we advertise. Good luck
