Can you make money through gambling?

Or are the only people who profit the casino operators or bookmakers?

In Australia, gambling at casino's and horse racing is legitimate business, as in many other countries, especially Dubai where you are from. People from your country send out many horses for the Australian racing season.

Gambling is big business. Whether you enjoy it or not, it is still an interesting discussion for this forum.

with due respect to your opinion , this forum allows a free and frank and open discussion . u need not be upset and rude in your responses and just to keep you informed dubai is not my country - i am just a resident here .

i wish and hope that ideas are exchanged without any un called for anxieties

its a game more then business, you win or loose there is no 3rd option here,
and the probablity is equal for both.

for sure the bookers make more profit, the players loose or win, they still make money.

It's an interesting one, especially with horse racing. Whilst it is still a game of chance, with horse racing you can lessen the odds if you study the form.

Some of my dad's friends make a living now purely betting on horse racing.

I like betting on the horses occasionally, but a full time living seems too risky to me.

its like if you have 2% of your revenue spend all these things its fine, i wont put it in more then that. sort of 2% will be max.

locally we have small centers here which are allowed by government in mumbai, slot machines and sort of things, nothing so big, casino is not legal in all parts of india, only goa it works out.

so general thinking of people here is against betting on casino and gambling sort of things, more of them bet in stock markets or either sports betting on teams etc

in india we require lisense to put up gambling cafes, i have seen few run in mumbai , and most run with bribes

its profitable , since the machine is made such a way that it will always profit the owner
