investment is very easy to get once you have the complete idea show it to the local finance company , they can get you investors with a basic fee, since they know your business and status etc, also local presense of finance firm will help investors feel easy to check on growth of you business.

it will be difficult to get direct investors for your business without proper planning and reports.

i would say don't look to far and look first in you're direct environment , fam, friends.
you got to trust one and other before you can go and invest in some one business , but this is only my opinion

There is no point looking for investors if you don't have a well thought out business and marketing plan. You will find no interest.

Then your options are banks, finance companies, venture capitalists or family and friends.

the statement "no outsider will invest in you" is so very wrong, if you have a well writtern business plan and you can show the investor you are going to put all your efforts into this business investors are easy to get from anywhere. about a year ago i started an aquarium company and from 1 advertisement in the news paper i had a guy from indonesia, a couple from my city (melbourne) and a guy from New York all say they wanted to invest with me. i also had a family friend want to invest so i chose him.
i am now looking for more investors to expand one side of the business, il let you know how i go.
Also if anyone is interested, i need to raise $22,000 between 4 investors for the 1st step of my expansion and you will receive around a 30% ROI
