Default Are You Going To Buy Vista This Year??

Since December Windows vista is out on sale for businesses. Just wondering how many of you are going to invest in this new operating system upgrade.
I would advise you if you want to save wait until 2008 as it will cost a huge amount of money to upgrade to vista. Computer prices need to fall first.

So who is intending to buy into vista?

I've been following this OS for quite some time and I'm looking into getting it. I was thinking of getting it on launch day but then I figured I would wait until they work out the bugs and company's get the drivers going for the hard ware.

I think it is silly to upgrade now. The system will have bugs that need to be fixed first.

I will stick to XP for now. I think it is more than adequate

I have come across this thread after a long time.Looking at the present practical issues that one has to deal with VISTA, I feel that I am not interested in buying one. Also my normal requirements dont suggest me have one at the moment.

Vista is still in the first year of its operation. The Million dollar baby is still learning to walk. Not All products may be updated to work on vista ; though many co. are working it out and giving patches, its not fully Vista working. I 2 had installed Vista on my dummy PC to evaluate its working.

Its good on ergonomics and looks as well as in speed.

But key programs do not work like
1 The DVD is not bootable, it has to be installed like a software. You need XP for this. Its tough to load Vista directly onto a fresh PC.
2 Adobe Photoshop CS2
3 Internet explorer had bugs.
4 3D Max Pro not supported.
5 Pinnacle studio 10 ( now avid) Not supported.

There are bugs all around in the OS. This is yet a soft launch. ( they have left them to get reports and public demands ).

Well the success version would be launched somewhere in mid / end of 2008

I will definetly be waiting to get vista until I am absolutely forced to.

We bought a new pc at work and it had Vista on it, which caused us some major headaches. Many of our programs that are required to run on our propriety BASIC software will not work with Vista.

From a proffesional standpoint I can not use it yet due to the lack of software capabilites that it has. By that I mean backwards compatabity, the ability to use software that worked on windows 9x and xp that don't work now. However from a personal standpoint, I love the graphics, look and feel of Vista. It is user friendly and looks great. But business comes first.

Agreed. XP was a nervous breakdown in itself when it came out, I'm not going to waste my time on vista until I absolutely have to. I may just get a mac in the end.

I would get a mac if I had an extra 2 grand laying around. Why do they have to be so expensive?
