have you ever purchased bond certificate which has a span of 5-10 years bonds, they even go to about a 100 year bond.

yea i have invested in few 5-7 yr bonds, small amounts worth $100 - $200 or so

I haven't. They might be fairly safe, but they do not have a high enough ROI for me.
