Let me talk about the stock markets and how i started with gaining interest in it. From the age of 10 yrs i used to notice my dad investing in stocks, buying and selling them , i used to wonder how it happens, at that time stock quotes were still not live on the television, so sometimes i used to check them out in newspapers. Later with time it started showing up in CNBC and more television channels in India.
How i learned ?
Well answer is simple, i just used to watch and follow stock trends in CNBC , daily view the channel for couple of hours. This made me remember stock names, their prices, market fluctuations, understanding global economic effects on stock markets.
Is it easy to learn trading in stocks ?
Yes its very easy, infact you can play the stock market game and get more exposure to trading and realtime price fluctuations. It takes lot of time to master and gain knowledge to understand overall working of the exchanges.
When did i make my 1st investment?
It is almost 1 year back i started with my 1st investment, i saw some gains with the 1st stock i brought which was ITC Ltd , i brough it at price level of 180 INR , say approx $4 and quantity was 1200 1200 x $4 = $4800 Investment the stock price is not at $3 so i am making loss of about 25%. I am holding the stock still, and surely its gonna reach that amount in a year.
Though i have not given it up yet, other stock i brough is Reliance Petroleum at 85rs level and now its quoting at 115 rs , so gain of 30% . Quantity i purchased was very less, say about 100 stocks.
Things to remember while investing in stock markets:
Make your own research on stocks.
Invest on right time. Ensure that you have liquidity with you always to make up for the best opportunity.
Whatever tips you invest in make sure that you look into the company financials their growth potential before investing into the stock.
Do not put all your money in stock market. Do not short sell stocks blindly without having positions in those.
Practise a lot with stock market game to get exposure and live trading experience.
If you are new, start with small quantities and buy in breaks and split the quantity.
Invest in top IPO’s as they are safe generally when top companies come up with them , like google ipo came out with offer price of $86 and its trading right now at $500 + levels.
