Level of online marketing requires depends upon your competition, if you are competing with small websites you can do it alone. But if you are in heavy niche market you need to have a budget and team (your or hired) doing it for you. Team size is again dependent upon your competition.

SEO is the best form of lasting online marketing but is definitely the toughest nut to crack.
