Re: ebay stock
Ankur's statement seems to confirm what I just read yesterday in a Business magazine. The company has no prospects for growth, their user base is topping out. The number of items sold on their auctions hardly grew. They are going to face competition from Google with respect to their Paypal business.
Interesting news is that Google and Ebay had a bit of a falling out. Google tried to lure away Ebay Live conference members to a Google conference instead and push their new Google product to compete with Paypal. Ebay responded by pulling off all their ads on Google. Google wisely cancelled their conference and didn't try to steal away Ebay's webmasters.
The CEO of Ebay has been at its helm for nearly a decade. Given Ebay's lack of growth it's questionable if she'll remain CEO next year.
I once used to be believe in Ebay, but no longer. If you want a tech play try Apple or Google. - Just an opinion, don't blame me if there's a crash in either of these two stocks! Just noticed that past performance for these two companies seems very good. As a disclosure I do not currently own any stocks of Ebay, Google or Apple. But that may change in the near future.
