What Katy has said is right. if planing to join an mlm, one should do some good research about that company. In affiliate marketing, [mostly] atleast one doesn't need to pay any up-front fee as in mlm. As Hamish pointed out, in mlm, even with all those meetings... the actual promotion is on one2one basis, that too.. to our friends and relatives... and in the end, in most cases end up with strained relationships.
With a professional attitude, sincere effort and support of a good company, mlm still is not a bad deal.
