surely you can raise small funds from Internet , but to finance huge website you'll need some venture. Although you can built your capital through this small funds and then invest on a big website, either ways

i did similar thing, i been into Internet biz from almost 4 years now, I've never looked for partners in my business yet or anyone to invest any sort of capital to share business profits and losses with me.
